Suomen Taideyhdistys ry, Finnish Art Society (”STY” or ”we”) handles personal information in it operations to maintain it's membership base or working with its' clients and partners to enable communication, artwork lottery communication, and direct marketing. We also gather analytical data of website users. Besides individual members STY has organisation members and partner orgnisations, whose epresentatives as individuals may also be part of our registry or databases. We only use the individual data of organisation representatives for communication directed at the organisation.

For STY it is important that you are made aware of how we handle your personal data. Below we desribe in more detail how we hande that data. Please note that this statement only has to do with the personal data handling that the association does as the registrar.

WHERE DO WE GET THE PERSONAL DATA FROM?

Mostly we get the personal details described in this statement as given by individuals themselves. Data gathered from the use of the website is formed during site visits.
PURPOSES OF COLLETED DATA

Personal details can be in addition used to the following purposes that are legal and in accorance with user approval.

We use personal data to acquire artworks, to deliver artworks, or to insure artworks and publish the data such as name of the artwork, artist name, production year on the web and on social media.

To maintain a customer relationship and communication

Personal data is used between STY and the member to manage the membership and associated services. If you contact us, we use the proivded data to respond to questions and to solve possible problems and to process your message.

Direct marketing purposes

If you have accepted direct marketing from us, we may send you STY press releases or a newsletter regarding our exhibitions, projects or other relevant direct marketing information. The registered user has always a right to prohibit us from using his/her data for direct marketing or profiling by contacting us to the contact given above, or by forbidding direct marketing via a link in the newsletter.

DURATION OF DATA STORAGE
We keep your personal data only as long as the law requires, or how long they are necessary for the purposes outlined in this statement.

We may give personal data outside of the STY organisation, if there are reasonable ground to do so based on (i) to follow legislature, public guidelines or court decisions; (ii) to be able to notice signs of, or prevent, fraud, money laundry, financing of terrorism, or technical issues in data security; or (iii) to protect property of STY, or that of its members or clients, or that of public safety and interest, in accordance to the law.
For authorised service providers

We may give personal data to our authorized service providers. Our contracts with them limit their use of personal details to the minimum to carry out their service, and to follow at least the guidelines in this privacy policy statement.

With your consent

With your consent we may give your personal details to an organisation outside of STY for other reasons than described above, when we have the specific permission by the registered person to do so. The registered person may cancel such a permission at any time.

RIGHTS OF THE REGISTERED PERSONS

Right to access information

The registered persons have the right to access their personal data that STY handles. You may contact us to find out what personal data we handle, and to what purposes it is used. ​

Right to demand correcting data

The registered persons have the right to correct any erranuous or missing data that we store. You can contact us so that we update the data.

Right to demand removal of data
​​
You can demand us to remove your data. We will follow your request, unless we have a justified right to not remove the data.

Right to resist and to limit handling of data

You have the right to resist handling your data or profiling, if the data is used for direct marketing. You can also the right to demand limiting the use of your data when they are not correct. Furthermore you have in some circumstances the right to demand handling your data, if it is grounded by a specific personal set of circumstances.​

The right to transfer data from one system to another

The registered person has the right to get his or her personal data from us in an organised and ommonly used format, to move the data to a third party independently.

Exercising rights

If you want to exercise any of the above rights, we ask you to send STY either by post or e-mail, the following einformation: name, address, phone number and a copy of an official ID doument. To verify your identity we may as you for further information. We may ignore demands that teake place repeatedly, are excessive or which are clearly ungrounded.

DATA SECURITY

We have done managerial, organisational, technical and physical measures to protect the data and personal details that we handle. Our security measures have been designed to maintain and ensure a reasonable level to upkeep data cofidentiality, integrity and access. ​

Personal details can only be processed by those persons, who have reasons to do so due to their tasks at STY work. Handling personal detail data is protected by suficcient user IDs, passwords and access rights.

MAKING A COMPLAINT

You have the right to make a complaint to public officials if you consider STY to handle personal details in ways that are not aligned with data privacy legislation in Finland.
